Organic Cottons

Conventional Cotton Apparel Is Generally Treated With Chemicals To Reduce The Shrinkage Effects Of Heat. Organic Cotton Is Not Treated, So In High Heat It Is Possible For The Cotton To Shrink In Increased Amounts.

However If Washed Carefully Between 20 And 30 Degrees The Life, Shape And Size Of The Garment Will Be Preserved.

We Expect 2-3% Normal Shrinkage Over First Few Washes. This Is Normal For All Cottons.

We Also Advise That Post Wash You Gently Stretch Out Your Heavier Cotton Items To Their Natural Size And Allow To Dry Away From Direct Heat.

Heat Is Not The Fibres Nor The Colours Friend!!!!

Natural Fibres Do Not Like Heat And Untreated Ones Even More So.

Treat All Our Cottons Gently And Wash Prints Inside Out.

20 Degrees Is More Than Enough And Will Dramatically Improve The Product Life Cycle Of Your garments.

Avoid Tumble Dryers. They Are The Evil Twin To Washing Machines

Prints And Embroidery On Organic Cottons

WE USE 2 TYPES OF PRINTS IN THE MAIN: SCREEN AND DIGITAL

All Prints Should Be Washed Inside Out To Prolong The Lifespan.

Screen Prints Will Normally Last For A Greater Amount Of Time Whilst Retaining Definition Compared To Digital Prints That Will Have Some Fading Over Time And Washes.

Our Tees Are Made With This In Mind And Natural Ageing And Print Wear Is Fully Expected On These Types Of Digital Prints

Embroidery Much The Same As Prints Does Not Like Excessive Heat. Warping And Twisting Of Yarns Results In Distorted Embroideries So Again Pls Wash On 20 To Keep It Nice.

Colour Fastness?

Eco-Friendly Dyes Are Just As Long Lasting As The Harmful Dyes Used On Conventional Products. They Will Fade If Powerful Detergents Or Bleaching Agents Are Used Or High Temperatures Are Used.

Because We Do Not Use Chemical Color Fixatives, Please Do Not Mix Dark Colors With Light Ones For The First Few Washes Due To Dye Bleed.

And Don’t Over Cook These Either. Dyes Are Also Very Heat Sensitive.

Its Simple Really:

  • Wash At 20 Preferably
  • Only Like Colours
  • Inside Out
  • Gently Stretch
  • Dry Away From Heat
  • Steam Over Iron All Day Long

Use Common Sense. These Are Natural Un Chemically Treated Yarns.

They Need To Be Treated Nice.
